The Paid SEA (Search Engine Advertising) or SEM (Search Engine Marketing) Project Manager draws up a paid Internet visibility strategy across all available digital channels. Her goal is to set up advertising campaigns to meet the company’s business objectives.

In keeping with the company’s sales and marketing plan, she implements various marketing operations. She does this by creating customer segments based on her familiarity with the offer and her understanding of customers and their behaviours.

She is highly knowledgeable about key words (broad match, phrase match, exact match, excluded key words) and demographic, geographic and behavioural nuances.

She is well acquainted with the various web marketing channels in general. In most cases, she runs campaigns on the different search engines (Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc.). Her professional skill set and product knowledge enable her to align supply and demand to obtain the most effective digital mix possible.

The Paid SEO Project Manager monitors campaign performance and regularly optimises strategies to reach pre-defined goals (cost per click, click rate, conversion rate, etc.). She also improves the content of the website to create the most effective landing pages or redirect pages. She knows how to get the most out of every advertising dollar.

Whether she is working to launch an e-commerce site for a brick and mortar business, a pure player or an agency, she is driven solely by ROI with the aim of increasing the company’s TO through digital channels.

Qualities

Paid search engine optimisers have a thorough technical understanding of the ins and outs of paid search engine services, directories, price comparison sites and affiliate platforms and keep tabs on websites that specialise in search engine optimisation.

Paid Search Engine Optimization Project Managers have good writing skills which they use to produce quality sponsored link adverts (grammar, syntax, spelling).

Their analytical skills are a vital asset in optimising campaigns. They are rigorous and organised and can work under time constraints.

Because they must work with other departments, they have good communication skills and team spirit.
